Abstract

The North Sumatra poverty rate has decreased by 0.09 points, from 8.42 percent in March 2022 to 8.33 percent in September 2022. This poverty rate is equivalent to 1.26 million people in September 2022, or reduced by around 6.1 thousand soul in the last semester.

The percentage of poor people in September 2022 in urban areas is 8.63 percent, and in rural areas it is 7.96 percent. Both urban and rural areas experienced a decrease of 0.13 points and 0.02 points respectively when compared to March 2022.

The Poverty Line in September 2022 was recorded at IDR 592,025/capita/ month with a composition of the Food Poverty Line of IDR 448,623 (75.78%) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of IDR 143,402, or around 24.22 percent .
