Abstract

In June 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in North Sumatra Province will be 3.35 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.75. The highest inflation occurred in Padangsidimpuan City at 4.13 percent with a CPI of 107.78 and the lowest occurred in Pematangsiantar City at 2.89 percent with a CPI of 106.95.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for all expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group; clothing and footwear group; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups; group of equipment, tools and routine household maintenance; health group; transportation group; information, communication and financial services group; recreation, sports, and cultural groups; educational group; food and beverage/restaurant supply groups; and group personal care and other services.

The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate is 0.33 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate is 1.65 percent.
