Abstract

The number of foreign tourists (tourists) visiting North Sumatra through 4 (four) entrances in May 2023 reached 16,365 visits, while in April 2023 there were 16,151 foreign tourists visiting North Sumatra.
During the January - May 2023 period, the number of foreign tourists visiting North Sumatra increased by 1,689.92 percent when compared to the same period in 2022, from 4,366 visits in January - May 2022 to 78,148 visits in the 2023 period.
The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) for star hotels in North Sumatra in May 2023 averaged 47.68 percent, or an increase of 6.39 points compared to April 2023 of 41.29 percent.
The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels was 1.43 days during May 2023, down 0.21 points compared to April 2023 of 1.64 days.
The number of domestic passengers departing from North Sumatra via Kualanamu International Airport during May 2023 recorded 248,404 people, an increase of 18.44 percent compared to April 2023 which recorded 209,727 people.
The number of inter-island (domestic) sea transport passengers departing during May 2023 was recorded at 19,051 people, an increase of 81.70 percent compared to the previous month of 10,485 people.
