BPS Toba Regency Attends Toba Regency Wage Council Meeting

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Toba Regency attended the invitation of the Toba Regency Wage Council in order to discuss the proposed Toba Regency Minimum Wage (UMK) for 2025. The event was held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the Hollywood Cafe, Balige District.

On that occasion, BPS Toba Regency was represented by Postel Tampubolon and Fitri Agustina. This activity was also attended by various elements, such as representatives of the local government, labor unions/worker unions, employers/APINDO, economic experts and academics, and the agency in charge of manpower.

In the meeting, BPS representatives conveyed a number of strategic data related to the economic conditions of Toba Regency. The data includes inflation of 3.06% y-on-y (referring to Pematang Siantar City), economic growth of Toba Regency in 2024 reaching 4.93%, Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) of 82.57%, and Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) of 1.09%.

Through constructive discussions, all members of the Wage Council agreed on the proposed amount of the UMK for Toba Regency in 2025. This figure will later be submitted to the Regent of Toba Regency to be officially determined. The determination of the UMK is carried out based on the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the Minimum Wage in 2025, with a formula increase of 6.5% from the previous year's wages.
